Asics EX89 MT

The EX89 MT combines the legacy of influences from the 1989 GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe with modern cushioning properties. It was originally designed by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s as his first design project at ASICS. The original high-top design has been reworked with a mid-cut construction and color palettes that resemble an old vintage look. We updated the cushioning system with our FF BLAST technology. The curved heel shape improves underfoot comfort in everyday situations. The outsole pattern is intended to reflect the view of a city from the air. This functional grip feature was originally inspired by the designer's first business trip to the United States in 1987.
